Before everything, the weekends were meant for fun, friends, and cold beer. Not anymore, between social distancing, sanitizing, washing hands, and wearing masks, guys have become cautious. It is a tricky thing, kind of like courting a girl you are not sure if she likes you but you do anyway – maybe for the thrill? But the one thing that remains a constant is the cold beer. Really cold, and crisp and of course over a bed of meat and starch.
But this previous weekend the bug hit. I had to have a cold beer in a social setting, the whole shebang, waitresses with name tags hanging on their bosoms, a deejay that plays birthday songs back to back because obviously it is someone’s birthday and a lot of distance between patrons because come on – social distancing.
The location was along Mombasa road, The Tunnel. An airy space with an interior that borders on quaint but has a touch of modern to it. Personally, it is one of the few places you can get to relax, enjoy a castle lite and let the lady deejay ferry you into her world of music. Here’s the thing, she is pretty good, emphasis on the good. Her choice in music selection is delicate and she knows how to oscillate your mood from wanting to dance or just sit and sip your beer. The top lad that one – too bad I did not catch the name.
Now here’s the thing, anyone that has had a dalliance with beer knows it might get you texting your ex. Not Castle Lite – it maintains decorum. Makes you feel decent while giving you the pleasure of having a green bottle sitting on the table.
Now, here’s the thing. Remember the creation story? What they do not tell you is that when there was the 7th day of resting God had a beer, a Castle Lite to be exact and while we all know him for changing water to wine it must’ve been a sick joke. Cause trust me, anyone that calms storms, heals lepers and multiplies bread and fish is a beer person.
You know what you get from a beer that’s brewed at -2.5 degrees? It touches parts of your soul you never knew existed. It delivers an experience and you anticipate each sip until your lips are intimately acquainted with the nose of the bottle. But here is the thing though, get it crisp cold.
With this beer, it is just not about taste. It is about everything else that comes with it. The guys who made it clearly took a long time with it, making sure it was the perfect drink. For instance, want to find out if it is cold enough? There’s a neat feature. A blue snowflake that only appears when the beer is cold enough.
One other good thing it comes in a 440ML bottle and you actually get more than you bargained for. Which is a pleasant surprise. Now here’s the thing, anyone that has had a dalliance with beer knows it might get you texting your ex. Not Castle Lite – it maintains decorum. Makes you feel decent while giving you the pleasure of having a green bottle sitting on the table.
Here is my feeling about the beer: if you ever want to feel like you had a warm cuddle from a drink then Castle Lite is the way to go. I have had many beers before, but Castle Lite takes the crown. Whether you have two or six you will wake up good to go. Plus, being low on carbs the beer really is lite to the waistline.
Here’s the best part, you can easily get this beer from Shoprite, Quick Mart, Chandarana – just add it to your monthly shopping list. Or, if you fancy online delivery you can get it from Jumia Party and Sky Garden.
So let’s all enjoy the Castle Lite experience ama namna gani?
